Definizione dell’amore – Versione Pop-Rock

Pop-rock - contradiction passionately embraced and voiced without hesitation

Introduzione

English Translation

The contradictions are no longer held back, but given voice and movement. In this setting, they don’t resist or retreat, but rise and unfold with clarity and emotion. The language carries them with warmth, allowing each line to resonate with both strength and vulnerability.

What emerges is something passionate and immediate, where paradox becomes something to be embraced rather than resolved

Testi di canzoni

Voglio prenderti in sposa, ed ho deciso
di lasciarti già scritta la partenza.
Ti adorerò per tutta la mia esistenza
e ti tradirò, col desiderio inciso.

Riconosco il tuo diritto d’esser libera
nel pretendere che sia soltanto tuo;

Ti voglio fiera e salda nel tuo stare,
ma obbediente anche avendo ragione;
contraddicimi pure, se c’è errore,
poi cedi, senza lotta, al mio volere.

Lyrics

I want to marry you, and I have decided
to leave you with my departure already written.
I will adore you for my entire existence,
and I will betray you, with desire engraved on my heart.

I recognize your right to be free
in demanding that it be yours alone;
never dependent on my love,
though mine forever, in an intangible form.

I respect your profile, your essence,
but I intend to mold you like clay.
I accept what you choose to show yourself,
if you change your words according to my presence.

I want you to be proud and firm in your being,
but obedient even when right;
contradict me if there is any mistake,
then yield, without a struggle, to my will.

Pop-Rock

I set this version in an emotional pop-rock style to bring the lyrics into a space of open expression and intensity. The Italian language naturally amplifies the melodic and emotional qualities of the text, allowing each phrase to unfold with warmth and clarity. The music supports this with a strong sense of progression and release. This version feels direct, passionate, and fully voiced.

Interaction Between Music & Lyrics

I chose pop-rock because it allows the contradictions in the lyrics to be expressed without hesitation or distance. The structure of the music gives the paradox a sense of direction, as if it is moving toward resolution, even when none is fully reached. What might feel complex in other versions becomes here something unified through expression and feeling.

While the lyrics of the two songs are the same, the first version captured me because it is more passionate in delivery, while I do also like the second version, which is a bit more "controlled", but by no means less emotional.
