Front-end Web Developer

I am a professionally qualified Front-end Web Developer with over 20 years of experience in the private sector and in higher education in Birmingham, West Midlands. I am a flexible all-rounder, equally at home as a team member, team leader or working autonomously with a wide range of experience in front-end web development, including Search Engine Optimisation, Social Media intregration and management, and multimedia creation.

Web Development: (Qualification: Professional Diploma in Web Development) Competent in all stages of front-end web development from the creation (xhtml, html5, CSS, jquery, JavaScript, Pearl and CGI) to copywriting and maintenance, from html5 and CSS W3C validation and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to accessibility legislation compliance. In addition to creating web sites from scratch with web authoring software such as Dreamweave , I worked with Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) - WebCT/Blackboard, Frog- and Content Management Systems (CMS) such as SunGuard Luminis, Contensis, and SiteBuilder.

I regularly use the Adobe suite of software (Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Premiere Pro, Encore) to create and produce multimedia files (videos, images, flv, swf and .gif animations) and fully-featured, menu-driven DVDs.

As a result of my SEO skills, enrolments via the websites made up 20% of all new business for the Berlitz Centres in Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh and Oxford.

I have a "hands on" and "can-do" approach to optimise limited resources and budgets to achieve set targets within tight deadlines.
