Whilst at the University of Hamburg I read Sociology, Statistics, Social and Economic History, History; German, English, Psychology. After obtaining the first qualification (Zwischenprűfung), an equivalent to the B.A., I spent two years in England, studying at Warwick University (1988/ 89) reading Sociology with History, Politics and English Literature and at the University of York (1991/ 92) reading Sociology. Whilst studying in York I was employed as a Foreign Language Assistant. In 1996 I graduated from the University of Hamburg with an M.A. in Sociology with History and English Literature.

Some of the qualifications whilst at these schools are equivalent to O/ A levels. They are as follows: German, English, History, Sociology, Psychology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Sport (Hockey, Volleyball, Table tennis, Badminton), Art (pottery, enamelling, photography, theatre).
